Contact Information: bh@darkhold.net

  1. You must be at least 18 years of age. No exceptions. And, please do not attempt to lie. We will find out, that's our job.

  2. You must be able to post at Beyond Hogwarts at least twice a week. If, for some reason, you find that you cannot follow this rule due to a temporary problem with real life, it is your job to contact one of the moderators (QueenC, Stacey or Leanne) and let them know why. If you do not contact anyone and simply disappear, do not be surprised if you are removed from the RPG upon your return.

  3. Absolutely no flaming. Anyone who flames another player will be removed. There are no exceptions to this rule and no second chances. If you have a problem with another player, please bring it to one of the moderators attention privately. Flaming another player includes but is not limited to doing so outside of the game, in LJ, in email, or in private chat.

  4. Any major plots have to be agreed upon with all players whose characters are involved. Also, any plots that could affect the entire storyline must be approved by the moderators. If you are in doubt about whether or not this applies to your plot, tell the moderators and let them decide.

  5. Any NC-17 scenes (het or slash) must somehow further the plot along. This is not a PWP (porn without plot) that we are writing, nor is it a poorly written soap opera. If you want your character to become intimate with another character, the moderators must be asked and you must have a good reason for wanting to do so.

  6. All posts made in the RPG must be in narrative form. If you aren't certain what that is, then refer to the files section of the Yahoo Group (members only), ask a moderator, or check out the posts already made at the Live Journal.

  7. All OOC (out of character) posts must be done at the Yahoo Group. The RPG should only contain actual character activity. (Think of it as a television show. Anything that the readers don't need to know should be done "off camera".) There are no exceptions to this rule.

  8. If you have a question that pertains to the RPG, please check the FAQs, which can be found at the files section of the Yahoo Group, to see if your question has already been asked and answered.

  9. Any photos that you wish to make available to the other players can be uploaded at the Yahoo Group. Note: All photos must somehow be related to the RPG. Characters, actors or actresses you could see playing your character, and such is allowed. Pictures of you on your family vacation or anything along those lines are not allowed. If in doubt, ask the moderators before uploading.

  10. You must either set your membership status at the Yahoo Group to "individual email", "daily digest", or check the group regularly. There are no excuses for missing any important information that is posted at the group.

  11. Every player must have an active, canon character in order to participate in the game. Secondary characters will be granted at the moderators' approval. Original characters (OC's) will be allowed for approved plotlines. In order to have an OC, you must have an active, canon character in the game. Non-Player characters (NPC's) such as house elves, family members, etc. which will have an impact on your character will be handed out by the moderators on an 'as needed' basis. The moderators are exempt from the two character limit, and are allowed to take characters as the need arises, if they feel they are able to maintain posting requirements.

  12. The characters private Live Journal's are to be written in as though the character were writing in a diary. Therefore, the journal should not contain anything that is online-related. (Quiz results, polls, etc.)

  13. No Netspeak or all capital letters in posts. (Netspeak examples are: LOL, b/c, ttyl) These are not only annoying but make the entire RPG look unprofessional. Note: The only exception to the all capital letters ban is if the scene denotes a need for your character to shout. However, please do so sparingly.

  14. Check your spelling and grammar before posting. There is a spell-check tool available at Live Journal. Use it. And, as far as grammar goes, we ask that you at least use complete sentences. Read it back to yourself before you post and make certain that it sounds presentable.

  15. While we aren't going to say that the only RPG that you may participate in is Beyond Hogwarts, we do ask that you don't use the same storyline here that you are using at another RPG.

  16. And finally:

  17. Have fun! Yes, we know we sound incredibly strict in these rules. However, we are always willing to make exceptions, provided that the reasons are good enough. If you have a question, don't hesitate to contact us. We really aren't the ogres that we seem to be. *g
